Our school offers state-of-the-art facilities to inspire, encourage and support 21st century learners.
Teachers make the difference! We are committed to keeping teacher-student ratios as low as possible.
At Kempsey South Public School, your Kindergarten child will enjoy the benefits of not only small class sizes but also having four adults in their classroom every morning.
We are fully aware that we are teaching 21st century learners, or 'digital natives' as they are better known. To maximise the learning experience for our students, we operate within a fully-integrated wireless enviroment and have banks of iPads and netbook computers in every classroom.
This is in addition to providing every single Year 1 child with specialist Reading Recovery teaching, and every single Year 5 student with QuickSmart maths sessions.
The school was established in 1960. The school draws its population from the rural communities of Kundabung and Dondingalong, with a small group from areas scattered across Kempsey.
These children travel to school by bus and constitute a significant portion of the population. The rest of the children live within walking distance to the school. The school has spacious, attractive, well equipped grounds with an all weather basketball/netball court and a Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA).
There is a fixed equipment play area, cricket pitch, large shaded tree area, extensive bush tucker gardens and large concrete areas with Aboriginal murals.
Extensive work on the grounds and gardens is continually taking place. There are six modern classrooms with four older style rooms.
There is an Aboriginal Resource Room with modern cooking facilities and small computer network, a modern library with Internet and CD-ROM facilities, a canteen and Hall (which accommodates Kindergarten to Year 6), an Audio Visual Room and separate computer room.
